The level below is built along the hillside to create a wooden platform, the columns extending into the ground. It also has cusped openwork below and a viewing platform above, surrounded by a railing with Buddhist crosses. The accurate rendition here is a feature of Song official architecture, making this valuable reference material for the study of imperial garden architecture at the time.Inside the building is a meticulous furniture setting, the moon-viewing platform outside being spacious for the imperial viewing of scenery, burning incense, and making prayers. All that remains of the signature on this work are two characters for “Servitor Li,” but judging from the style, it is probably the court artist Li Song.(20101015) 内容简介(英文): A multi-storied house many roofs is rendered in the finely-detailed, ruled lines of the "boundary painting" manner. At the outer edge of the terrace, torches put forth tall flames as an elderly man bows before an altar table. He is attended by six female figures. Although the signature conslsts only of the two worcls "Servant Li", on the basis of style an attribution can be made to Li Sung. The painting is a leaf in the album Ming-hui chi-chen. 内容简介(英文): In this work is a two-storied hall with a doubleeave, hip-and-gable roof. The upper story has a veranda, an elevated terrace, a lattice railing, and yen-ch'ih-pan clapboards. Decoration includes lattice windows and doors. The outer walkway is supported by bracketing with columns, while the lintels are hidden behind latticework. The flying and eave rafters are all detailed, and the double cantilevers have "split-bamboo descending beaks," often found in the Northern Sung (960-1126). By the side of the hall is a terrace for making offerings, burning incense, or viewing. A partial signature reads, "Servitor Li." Judging from the style, this work probably was done by Li Sung. This is the 3rd leaf from the album "Ming-hui chi-chen."
