收藏着录： 故宫书画录（卷八），第四册，页129 收藏着录： 故宫书画图录，第十四册，页181-182 内容简介（中文）： 沈全，生卒年不详。清末的《韬养斋笔记》载有一「沈全」，为江苏人，字璧如，供奉内廷，善仕女、花鸟，不知是否为其人。图中描绘一株老根盘绕、花朵盛开的桂花树，下方的花盆并装饰有「福禄寿喜」的字样。「桂」与「贵」谐音，因此整幅画充满富贵吉祥之寓意。画家以纯熟的细致敷染表现光亮的立体感，使此吉祥图像显得更为富丽堂皇。 内容简介（英文）： Shen Ch’üan’s birth and death dates are unknown, but a late Ch’ing record in Notes from the T’ao-yang Studio mentions a “Shen Ch’üan” from Kiangsu who went by the style name Pi-ju. He served the court and excelled at painting ladies as well as birds and flowers, but it is unclear if he is the same artist who did this work, which shows an old, coiled cassia tree in full bloom. The planter below is decorated with the characters for “Fortune, Rank, Longevity, Joy.” In addition, the character for “cassia” is a homonym for “precious,” giving this work even greater auspiciousness. The artist here used meticulous washes to express the three-dimensional quality of light, giving this auspicious work an obvious decorative manner as well.
