收藏着录： 石渠宝笈续编（干清宫），第二册，页702 收藏着录： 故宫书画录（卷八），第四册，页103 收藏着录： 故宫书画图录，第十一册，页277-278 内容简介（中文）： 邹一桂，字原褒，别号小山，又号让卿，晚年号二知老人，江苏无锡人，生在康熙二十五（公元一六八六）年，死在乾隆三十七（公元一七七二）年。中雍正五年进士，官高做到礼部侍郎，加尚书衔。 他的画以花卉为专长，画法原出恽寿平，但因都是应皇帝旨意而画，循规蹈矩不敢肆意放手，所以，作品多是用笔工整，用墨洁净，着色秾艳，反失去一种平实眞率、自然生动的韵致。有时随兴戯笔的，却有不少佳作。 内容简介（英文）： Tsou I-kuei (tzu Yüan-pao, hao Hsiao-shan, Jang-ch’ing, and in his later years Erh-chih-lao-jen) was a native of Wu-hsi in Kiangsu. He received the chin-shih degree in 1727 and pursued on official career which culminated in his appointment as Vice-President of the Board of Rites and member of the Imperial Secretariat. He began to paint flowers and plants in the style of Yün Shou-p’ing, but because the ideas for his paintings were dictated by the Ch’ien-lung Emperor and experimentation was discouraged, most of his works are characterized by artisan-like brushwork, unmodulated ink, and thick, sensuous colors which lack natural vitality and rhythm. He occasionally did informal dotted-ink sketches which display much more freedom and spontaneity.
