He excelled at landscapes and was one of the Four Yüan Masters. In this monochrome ink painting is a river bank, scattered trees, bamboo, and a small pavilion. On the opposite bank, rounded mountains rise up to form a composition that is simple and pure with a sense of expansiveness and purity. The ink is light and elegant and a slanted brush was used to render the outlines of the rocks and mountains for force and weight. The brushwork for the bamboo is especially powerful, making this a masterpiece. (20120103) 网页展示说明 倪瓉（1301-1374）、江苏无锡の人。字は元镇、号は云林、または迂翁。裕福な家に生まれ、自宅に清閟阁を建て古书画を収蔵した。山水画を善くし、元四大家の一人に数えられる。本作には川岸やまばらに生える树木、竹林、小さな亭（あずまや）などが水墨で描かれており、対岸には起伏に富んだ山々が见える。构図は简洁で、荒凉としているが清逸な趣も感じられる。墨色は淡く上品で、山石の轮郭线は侧笔で描かれている。力强い中にも落ち着きがあり、竹を描く笔遣いには特に力が入っている。倪瓉の杰作である。年款はないが、画风の特色から见て、おそらく70歳顷の作と思われる。。(20120103)
