收藏着录: 秘殿珠林续编(干清宫),页363 收藏着录: 故宫书画录(卷八),第四册,页155 收藏着录: 故宫书画图录,第二十七册,页188-191 内容简介(中文): 金廷标(活动于西元一七六0–一七六七年),乌程(今浙江湖州)人,字士揆。工人物、花卉。乾隆南巡时,进「白描罗汉册」,遂得供职内廷,颇得高宗讚赏。廷标喜用挺健之笔,近唐寅画风,在盛清宫廷画家中别具一格。 本幅为「白描罗汉」册之第五开,画一罗汉,骑驭猛虎,行于波涛之上。罗汉双目贲张,一手握拳,神情栩栩如生。全作纯以白描钩勒,衣纹转折顿挫,简劲有力。 内容简介(英文): Chin T’ing-piao (style name Shih-k’uei) was a native of Wu-ch’eng (modern Hu-chou, Chekiang) who was good at painting human figures and flowers. During the Southern Tour of the Ch’ien-lung emperor (r. 1736-1795), he presented “An Album of Lohans in Plain Outlines.” He subsequently received a position at the Inner Court and was praised by the Ch’ien-lung emperor. Chin T’ing-piao was fond of using a stiff brush in a style similar to that of the Ming dynasty painter T’ang Yin (1470-1523). Thus, among the painters at the Ch’ing dynasty court, Chin T’ing-piao possessed a special style. Depicted in this album leaf is a lohan riding on the back of a tiger as it walks across the water waves. The lohan is in a very spirited stance as he stares with his fierce, wide-open eyes and makes a fist with one hand. The album leaf was painted solely using the plain outline (pai-miao) method. The drapery lines twist and turn, stop and pause, thus possessing power in its terseness.
