This painting shows mountains covered with snow, through which is shown the rugged face of the cliffs and trees. In the lower left corner, a small boat has come to dock as passengers depart for the buildings above. The composition is grand and heroic, while the brushwork is vivid and quick. In depicting the trees on the foreground landscape, the artist rendered the branches in a powerful "crab-claw" manner associated with the Kuo Hsi tradition. This work is traditionally attributed to Liu Kuan-tao, but itself style dates to the Ming dynasty (1368-1644).
